How to Thread PooLin EOC05 Embroidery Machine for Beginners

Introduction

Hi everyone. In this tutorial, I will show you how to thread your machine step by step.
In this guide, we will follow a Poolin official video tutorial, so you can either watch the video or read this blog to learn EMBROIDERY machine threading in the easiest way.
To begin with, I prepared polyester thread, a thread stand, and tweezers. These are essential tools for smooth Embroidery, especially for beginners.

When starting an Embroidery project, some users may experience thread jams or thread breaks—most often caused by incorrect threading. Even experienced embroiderers can run into this issue because every Embroidery machine follows a slightly different threading process. Incorrect threading may also lead to skipped stitches, uneven stitching results, and interruptions during long Embroidery projects. Learning the correct way to thread your PooLin EOC05 helps ensure smoother Embroidery, better stitch quality, and fewer production delays.
Now let me show you exactly how to thread the EOC05 Embroidery machine.

Embroidery Preparation Before Threading

Before starting the Embroidery threading process, make sure your machine is properly prepared. Check that the thread spool is installed correctly, confirm the needle is securely positioned, and remove any leftover thread from previous Embroidery projects. It’s also helpful to prepare your fabric and stabilizer in advance so your Embroidery workflow runs more efficiently after threading is complete.

Raise the Presser Foot First

Anyway, always raise the presser foot before threading.

This step is essential in Embroidery, because it allows the thread to pass correctly through the tension system.

Embroidery Threading Methods

There are two ways to thread your machine for Embroidery.

Method 1 – Using a Thread Stand

You can use a thread stand.

I suggest placing your thread stand higher than the machine so that your thread is held properly. Then place the thread on the thread stand and pass the thread through the hole above to connect it to the machine.

This setup helps ensure smoother thread feeding during Embroidery.

Method 2 – Using the Machine Spool

Or you can place the spool directly on the machine’s thread stand.

In this case, I would choose a thread cover to prevent your spool from flying out.

Both methods work for Embroidery, but stability is key.

Embroidery Thread Path Guide (Critical Steps)

Following the correct Embroidery thread path is extremely important for stable stitching performance. If the thread misses even one guide point, it may cause uneven tension, thread looping, thread breaks, or poor Embroidery results. Carefully follow each threading point shown on your machine and make sure the thread moves smoothly through every guide before continuing your Embroidery setup.

Pass Thread Between the Metal Pieces

Pull the thread down and make sure the thread passes between the two metal pieces.

This is very important. Make sure your thread stays between these two metal parts, as this directly affects Embroidery tension.

Follow the Threading Track

Then you can put down the presser foot.

Now follow the threading path:

  • Pull the thread down along the track
  • Then pull it up along the track
  • Go around the U-turn
  • Pass through the elastic hook

These steps ensure the thread flows correctly during Embroidery stitching.

Embroidery Take-Up Lever Setup

Next is a key step in the Embroidery process.

Pass Through the Take-Up Lever

Make sure the thread passes through the thread take-up lever.

The thread needs to pass over the take-up rod from right to left, so that the thread hangs correctly on the jumper rod.

Then pull the thread down again through the hook.

This step is critical for maintaining proper tension in Embroidery.

Embroidery Threading Check (Do Not Skip)

Now let’s check the threading to ensure everything is correct.

Verify Thread Path

Make sure:

  • The thread is not being held down anywhere
  • The thread passes between the metal pieces
  • The thread passes over the take-up lever

Then pull the thread to make sure it is smooth and not stuck.

This check helps prevent common Embroidery issues like thread breaks or uneven stitching.

Embroidery Needle Threading (Automatic & Manual)

Now we move to threading the needle, an essential step in Embroidery.

Using the Automatic Needle Threader

This is the automatic needle threader, and you can use it at this stage.

Make sure the machine stops at the highest position. If not, you can press the button twice.

Then:

  • Press the automatic needle threader down to its lowest position
  • Make sure the small hook passes through the needle hole
  • The hook catches the thread
  • Release the threader

Manual Needle Threading

Or you can thread the needle manually.

Use tweezers to pull the thread through the needle to protect your fingers.

This method is also reliable for Embroidery beginners.

Final Step for Embroidery Threading

Finally, cut off the excess thread.

Because if the thread tail is too long, it will pull the tension of the thread and affect your Embroidery quality.
