When you're in the middle of an embroidery project, running out of bobbin thread can be frustrating—especially if you don’t have a pre-wound bobbin ready to use. Fortunately, the Poolin EOC03 embroidery machine comes with a built-in bobbin winding feature that allows you to quickly refill your bobbin and continue embroidering without interruption. To help you better understand the process, we’ve embedded the original video tutorial below. If you prefer visual learning, the video will walk you through the entire process step by step. If you prefer reading, the detailed instructions below will guide you through every step.
What You Need Before Getting Started
Before winding a new bobbin, prepare the following items:
- l An empty transparent plastic bobbin case (Style A)
- l A spool of embroidery thread
One important tip: the bobbin thread should be slightly thinner than the top thread used for embroidery. This helps maintain proper tension and ensures smoother stitching results.
Step 1: Install the Thread Spool
Start by placing the spool of embroidery thread onto the spool holder of the machine. Then attach the thread cap to secure it in place.
Next, guide the thread through the thread guide hook and the thread clip, making sure the thread follows the correct path. After that, pass the thread through the bobbin winder tension disc, which helps control the thread tension during winding.

Step 2: Insert the Empty Bobbin
Take the empty bobbin and place it onto the bobbin winder holder. Make sure it is properly positioned so that it can rotate smoothly during the winding process.
Then guide the thread through the hole of the bobbin and wind it manually around the bobbin about 5–6 turns to secure the starting thread.
Finally, use the built-in cutter located at the bottom of the machine to trim the excess thread.
Step 3:Start the Bobbin Winding Process
Move the bobbin winder slightly to the right. Once it is in the correct position, the machine screen will indicate that the machine is ready.
Press the “Start” button to begin winding the bobbin.
The machine will automatically wind the thread evenly onto the bobbin. Once the bobbin is full, the machine will stop automatically.
After the winding process is complete, simply cut the thread with scissors and remove the finished bobbin. You now have a freshly wound bobbin ready for embroidery.
Conclusion
That’s all it takes to wind a bobbin on the Poolin EOC03 embroidery machine. By using the machine’s built-in bobbin winding function, you can quickly refill your bobbin whenever needed and avoid interruptions during your embroidery projects. Knowing how to wind bobbins efficiently can make your embroidery workflow much smoother and more enjoyable.
