Installing the bobbin correctly is a crucial step before starting any embroidery project. A properly installed bobbin ensures smooth stitching, balanced tension, and prevents common issues like thread nesting or skipped stitches. By following this article, you’ll be able to install the bobbin on your PooLin EOC05 embroidery machine confidently and correctly. We will also embed the original video to provide you with a more intuitive and visual learning experience.
Tools & Materials Needed
- Pre-wound bobbin or empty bobbin with bobbin thread
- Bobbin case (included with the machine)
- Small scissors
Step 1: Open the Bobbin Area
Locate the bobbin area at the lower front of the machine.
- Gently open the bobbin cover
- You will see the bobbin case installed inside the hook assembly

Step 2: Insert the Bobbin into the Bobbin Case
Important
- The bobbin should unwind counter-clockwise when you pull the thread
- Make sure the thread comes out smoothly
If the direction is incorrect, remove the bobbin and reinsert it.

Step 3: Guide the Thread Through the Tension Slot
After placing the bobbin in the case:
- Pull the bobbin thread through the side slot of the bobbin case
- Guide the thread under the tension spring
- Pull until the thread exits through the small opening
- Finally, trim off the excess thread
You should feel slight resistance when pulling the thread—this means the tension is correct.

Step 4: Close the Bobbin Cover
Carefully close the bobbin cover. Ensure:
- The cover is fully closed
- The thread is not pinched
Your bobbin installation is now complete.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Installing the bobbin in the wrong direction
- Not fully seating the bobbin case
- Pulling the thread too hard
Avoiding these mistakes will help prevent tension problems and thread jams.
Final Check Before Embroidery
Before starting your design, we recommend:
- Turning the machine back on
- Running a quick test stitch
- Checking that stitches look even on both sides of the fabric
If everything looks good, you’re ready to start embroidering!
