Sturdy foam for Puffy machine embroidery designs

This foam is intended to be used with puffy embroidery fonts and designs on an embroidery machine. It took me awhile to find and purchase a puffy font that I liked. I decided to test it on a small project like a pencil case. I watched a quick video online about this product before starting and felt confident in using it. I'm pleased with the result. The foam comes in white and black. After stitching the design, the sturdy foam tore away cleanly and easily. Wherever the foam is visible in the stitching, the video advises that you poke it back in with a needle or use a heat gun to shrink the foam. I used a pin on those few spots and the font looks perfect now. I bought a second font and wouldn't hesitate to use this product again. I've used thread and other stabilizers from this company and overall am pleased with the quality of their products.

Puffy Foam gives your embroidery POP! Works on wider font & Applique!

Puffy Foam works well with machine embroidery, especially with wider fonts and Appliques. Helps the design have greater height & dimension & adds POP! The finished product looks pretty. It is easy to use, under the fabric in the hoop. A good value for the price point.

Use THICK font. Do NOT iron!

I have several stabilizers from Richword and have been happy with all of them - including this one.- Great that it comes with black and white because you are supposed to use the foam color that matches your thread.- They give you some instructions on the back if you haven’t used puffy foam in the past.- I used it on a 4x4 hoop and it worked great for my project.- I specifically choose a thicker font for puffy foam and it seems to work well for me so far.- I like the 3mm thickness of this foam because it raises the letters just enough but not too much to where they look like they were glued on instead of embroidered.- NOTE - Do not iron the foam after you embroider. It could melt.

Great product that makes your embroidery "stand out"

My embroidery projects already are raised, that's kind of the nature of the craft. This puffy foam takes it to a new level, bringing dimension to your designs. I am only a beginner and do not own an embroidery sewing machine so I wasn't sure how well this would work for hand sewing. It does take a little practice to get the stitches just right, but this material is very easy to use. It tears away from you final design with not too much effort and what's left is a cool raised patch. If you are careful with how you place the foam, you can use a lot of it with out too much waste. Having both black and white is great for working with dark colors. The black foam is more forgiving when the stitches aren't perfect. This is a good product and I definitely recommend trying it out. It's not expensive but will add a lot to the look of your final project.

Worked beautifully

I haven't ever used Puffy Foam for embroidery, but I've looked into it before. I was pretty excited to try this out. One thing to note is that not every digitized design will work for 3D embroidery -- in fact, you really need to make sure the design is specifically made for puff embroidery. The machine will need to lay out the stitches a little differently so as to not squish the foam down. So, this stuff has a bit of smell when you first open it. I can't say I'm really surprised since it's foam. It is nice and firm, and once stitched on, it was super easy to clean up. As you can see in my test, it left the design nice and puffed up. I really like it!Overall, these are great quality puff foam for machine embroidery. I would say they're a bit more expensive than some others out there (from what I've seen) but I can say the foam feels like great quality and there was no tearing during stitching (or messing up the embroidery when pulling it apart). Might be worth the extra money for something that's super easy to use (esp if cheaper brands are more of a pain to work with)

Beginner trying 3d puff

As a first-time embroiderer, I was nervous to try 3D puff, but this turned out amazing. It was easier than expected looks super professional. Definitely a learning curve, but totally worth it.

Foam for the puffy script I purchased for my embroidery machine

This is a nice medium to use for the my embroidery machine. I have a new font that is designed to make a puffy script- I was happy with the foam. It doesn’t leave any residue. It was able to handle the dence stitching.

Just craft foam

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I ordered this. I don't do machine embroidery, but I do hand embroidery, and was thinking I could maybe cut this into pieces and specific shapes and then embroider over it to create more depth to my embroidery projects without using excessive amounts of thread. While I do think it will work for this, I think it's pretty costly to use for that if using it regularly. For that purpose, this is really not a great value. You could buy packages of kids craft foam with many more pieces for way less cost and use it for the same thing. If I had known that this was just dense foam like that, I would not have ordered it. The price seems excessively high for what it is.I do think the quality seems good and it's the right thickness, but I could get bigger sheets individually from the craft store and more of them and it would still cost less while maybe being a little thinner. It is easy to cut, though I haven't tried hand sewing straight through it although I may consider that in the future.

Puffy Foam

I’m so excited I found these!! Although it is advertised for embroidery, my daughter loves headbands with bows that stick up and I’ve felt what I think is foam inside that helps it hold the shape- these sheets will help me make her favorite type of bow-headband (which is difficult to find). They come 10 to a pack - 5 white + 5 black - so you can color coordinate for your project specifications. I appreciate that there are instructions how to use for embroidery, so I may just try my hand at that as well. The packaging has card stock on the front and the back to help protect the foam sheets during transit. The price point for the amount of product necessary per project seems reasonable.

Smaller, almost half-sized sheets, for about the same price as full-sized sheets. Not a good value.

Review for BAi 3D Embroidery Puffy Foam 6"x8" 3MM - 10PCS (5White+5Black) for Caps, Jackets, Garments and More.Value:I was disappointed with the value of this product. I didn't read closely enough to realize that these 3D machine embroidery puff foam sheets are less than half-sized of the normal-sized sheets (which are 9" x 12" in size versus this item's 6" x 8" size).I had previously purchased another brand of embroidery puff foam on Amazon, and it was close in price to this item. However, I received 15 full-sized sheets, versus this brand's 10 half-sized sheets. I then looked up the price per sheet of 3D embroidery puff foam from a well-known machine embroidery supplier to see what price is considered normal. To receive a 5 sheet (full-sized, 9" x 12") of 3mm puff foam, the price was considerably less than this product's price point. That means (after checking multiple suppliers) that this product's price per square inch is much higher than normal. This makes this product more expensive to use than other industry alternatives.Size:Half-sized sheets are limiting, as you have so much product waste in machine embroidery. A larger sheet lets you stitch more 3D puff designs, as you can fit in more designs on the sheet. I can fit in 9 hat 3D puff designs (at 3" x 4" each) on a 9" x 12" full-sized sheet. But I can only fit in 4 designs (at 3" x 4") on this 6" x 8" sheet of puff foam. This means that this product costs a lot more to use due to the smaller sheet size. The extra 1" (8" versus standard 9") allows me to stitch an extra design (even when comparing 2 smaller sheets to 1 larger sheet). This size is also less useful, as you can't do larger puff designs.Performance:This product performed well as a 3D puff foam.It was the standard thickness (3mm).It tore away easily. It withstood embroidery.Important Info:For those new to puff embroidery, your embroidery design must be digitized for puff embroidery AND also for the foam thickness. This 3mm size is considered standard thickness for puffy foam. If you double the foam layers, then you need the embroidery design digitized for 6mm foam thickness. The product that you will receive says "Richword," which is the brand name of embroidery supplies from the same company that makes BAi embroidery machines. The name BAi is not on the package front of this product, which may cause some confusion, as the product is sold as "BAi 3D Embroidery Puffy Foam."Summary:This machine embroidery puffy foam product performs well, as I would expect from this brand, but the smaller sheet size doesn't make this a good value (based on several metrics). While I have and like other products from this brand, unfortunately, I can't fully recommend this product based on the value offered.I've included a photo of the puff foam package next to a regular sheet of paper and a tape measure. This is to show a size comparison of the product. (A regular-sized puff foam sheet is larger than the notebook paper sheet.)

Great Quality Foam with Neat, Organized Packaging

This foam set is excellent quality and very versatile. While it’s made for embroidery projects, my daughter is using it for other arts and crafts, and it works beautifully for that too. The sheets are smooth, easy to cut, and hold their shape without tearing or breaking apart.I really appreciate that it comes in its own little booklet, keeping the foam sheets flat, clean, and easy to store. The white and black colors are rich and even, giving plenty of creative flexibility for different projects.

good thickness

This looks like excellent 3D embroidery foam. It's got a great thickness to it, better than craft foam, and the smaller sheet size is easy to work with even though it isn't as economical. This tears somewhat cleanly and cuts very well.

Several sheets of puffy foam that will meet most needs for raised machine embroidery projects

These sheets are large enough to meet almost any raised-embroidery need and they come in both black and white colors.

Ideal padding for your embroidery machine

I used the white puffy foam as a padding for a machine embroidered "A" initial on a kindle case I made. I had no difficulty setting up the embroidery, I set the Bernina for 3mm depth and got it going. The machine had no trouble with the foam and it peeled off easily afterwards.I would not recommend this for padding out hand embroidery - there are some great felts for that, and this really is intended for embroidery machines.

Puffy Perfection for Embroidery Projects

The Richword 3D embroidery puffy foam is a great little set for anyone who loves adding bold, dimensional designs to their projects. The foam sheets have a nice thickness (3 mm) that gives embroidery a crisp, raised look — perfect for caps, jackets, or custom garment designs.I love that it comes with both white and black sheets, making it easy to match or contrast with different thread colors and fabrics. The foam cuts cleanly and stays in place well during stitching, and it tears away easily once the design is done — no messy bits left behind. It’s great quality for the price, and it adds that professional, 3D embroidered finish that really makes your work pop. A solid addition to any embroidery stash!

Fantastic foam

Great price for embroidery foam, especially compared to other major brands. This brand I've used several of their products and I am always happy with the results from them. There are many options for your foam, too, depending on amount or thickness you want.It adds a great puff to embroidery with my machine, and I will definitely purchase from this brand when I run out.Good thickness, size, and functionality. The foam can be trimmer to fit the project your working on.
