My go to resource for feedback on sewing products is Reddit. Richword machine embroidery is a popular choice for its performance by machine embroidery owners. Until I get a new LCD screen for for Janome 10000, I'm limited to using the Richword matte thread on my Janome MC7000. I love the selection and variety of colors in this set which work well with my vintage fabrics. I checked most of the spools for tensile strength. All were good. The matte thread is great for topstitching decorative designs and borders on denim and fabrics with muted colors. No problems with breakage or skipped stitches.
Ive been wanting to try a matte thread for sewing and for embroidery. Some projects just need the matte finish. It was nice to get a variety of colors to experiment with. The finish is definitely more matte than traditional embroidery threads. I have several other Richword products and they have all been good quality and good value for the price. I paid around $90 for 20 spools, so about $4.50 for a large spool is a great price. Matte is hard to find in my local shops. The spools are not the same height as my other spools of embroidery as the size of these are almost 6 inches tall, and skinny. So Ill need to store them outside of my usual spool holders, probably in the box it came in for now. The inner holes are also bigger but will be easy to use on a spool stand.
I really like the Matte threads. I compared the strength and color/sheen of the Matte polyester against the Richword shiny polyester. Both stitched out equally well. A couple thread breaks in each, but nothing out of the ordinary. I stitched the same design using the same color threads and I liked them both. But the Matte seemed more pronounced in the design. I think with less shine you can see the actual design details. I definitely have plans for more designs using the matte. The color chart in the box, of course, is just for reference. They compare to the Maderia line of threads, and it refers to their line of matte threads. The white color is off on the chart and the Madeira number listed is a beige color. But again, this has nothing to do with the quality of the tread. As with other thread comparisons, you have to do your homework to match the colors up. I hope Richword continues to enlarge the line of Matte threads. There is no purple. But overall, I highly recommend the Richword Matte threads.
I absolutely love all the color choices in this Richword embroidery thread set. The variety is perfect for different projects, from bold designs to softer accents, and each shade looks vibrant and true. The 40WT polyester runs smoothly through my embroidery machine without breaking or fraying, and the spools are a generous size, so theyll last through plenty of projects.
Its a great value for 20 colors, and I feel like I have the perfect palette ready for any embroidery idea that comes up. Highly recommend for anyone who wants reliable thread and a beautiful color selection.
Ive been using the Richword Selected Matt Thread kit for a while, and its impressive for both quality and variety. The kit includes 20 different colors, each spool with 2500?m of 40WT polyester thread, which is plenty for multiple embroidery projects. The thread runs smoothly through my embroidery machine with minimal fraying or breakage, producing consistent, neat stitches. The matte finish gives designs a nice, subtle texture without being overly shiny.
A minor observation is that, like many polyester threads, some colors may slightly differ from the photo under certain lighting, so its worth testing on a scrap before committing to a project. Overall, its a reliable, versatile thread kit for hobbyists or small-scale professional embroidery work.
Very well priced box of 20 high quality polyester 40 wt embroidery thread spools. I love thread and will always happily reorganize my thread storage for them. I feel very fortunate to have been offered to review such a great item. At listed at $90 for 20 spools, $4.50 per 2500m large, high volume spool is very well priced. An assorted set of 20 spools of 2500M high quality in beautiful vibrant colors. This one is called Matte, but there is a sheen to the thread and is very attractive. Threads have always been a mystery to me about how to gauge appropriate thread weight for whatever project. In my opinion, I find 40 weight polyester thread as my go to thread for almost every sewing application, and while called embroidery thread, yes, this thread can be used in a sewing as well as with an embroidery machine. The box has crosswalks to Madeira brand thread colors, as well as a Pantone color chart. Love this item!!
This matt thread stitches beautifully, no breakage. Theres 20 colors, 2500M per spool. The price is very low when compared to other thread Ive bought in the past where Ive paid $8 or more per 1000M spool. These are 2.5 larger and theres 20 of them, and this thread stitched just as well. My machine is a Bernina 790 Plus SE and it tends to be picky with cheap threads. I had no problems with this thread. I would definitely order more of this brand. I especially like the large spools.
I'm so happy with this set of high quality threads! These work so well with my doll making projects, the colors are vibrant and steadfast. This is a wonderful value for the price!
Excellent thread for embroidery, works very well. I really like the variety and the size of the spools is insane--they go on forever. Thread is absolutely durable and does not have breakage issues.
This is an impressive, generous thread set at a fantastic price. The colors are bold and beautifully saturated, and the thread feels strong, smooth, and substantial. It is matte with a subtle sheen, and the box is great for storage if needs be. High quality product that I would repurchase.
I was impressed when I opened this thread up. I was able to slip off the plastic covering and replace it right after when I put it back in the box. I like that, because I don't like them unraveling, so I'm keeping the box for the storage of the machine thread.
Is it matte? Yes! But, despite being matte it hasn't dulled the colors at all. The quality of the thread is great, and it's got some elasticity to it. This is definitely stronger than floss and can take a little bit of abus.e when you start to stretch it by hand even, so that makes me confident that when it begins to unravel, it may be a minute before the threads snaps.
Overall, this was great quality thread, almost on par with what I was getting from my local vacuum and sewing shop! I love the variety of colors in there since they go from dark to light pretty well, with some complimentary transition colors as well.
Very nice thread. I use it for regular sewing. It's strong and very pretty.
